A journey through the more than nine hundred years of Otazu’s history, the fruit of our land as the guiding thread of a tradition that takes us from the production of wines for the kings during the Middle Ages to the most avant-garde contemporary art.
The full winery tour lasts approximately 3 hours. It includes a walk through the historic Otazu Manor dating back to the Middle Ages, which consists of a 12th-century Romanesque church, a 14th-century dovecote tower, and a 16th-century palace. In its gardens, you can appreciate a collection of sculptures by internationally renowned artists, some of which have been specially designed for these spaces. Next, you will visit the old Winery, converted into a historical museum and contemporary art space of the Otazu Foundation, awarded with the "A" Collectionism Prize 2020, granted by the ARCO Foundation. The tour continues in the new winery facilities, where the underground barrel room designed by Jaime Gaztelu, an international architectural reference, and the production and bottling areas stand out. The visit ends with a tasting of three wines, each paired with a prepared pintxo.
