Senses is a 2.5 hour experience that combines history, blind tasting, aromas and terroir at Bodegas Balbas.
Senses is a unique two and a half hour experience that immerses visitors in the world of Bodegas Balbás.
The tour begins at the winery with an introduction by Sara Hernando, head of wine tourism, and a video by María Balbás, the seventh generation of the family. Afterwards, you will visit the current winery, recently renovated, to learn about every detail of the winemaking process.
The experience continues in our barrel room, where our smaller production wines age. There, visitors take part in an olfactory activity with the smell kit used by our oenologist during the ageing process. They will also explore the different types of terroir of our plots through touch.
Finally, we will hold a blind tasting in the Noble Room, designed to sharpen the sense of smell, sight and taste. In it, participants will have to differentiate between wines of different ageing periods, accompanied by cheeses of different cured meats and cured meats.
Those who manage to correctly identify the wines will receive a bottle of Balbás Crianza, personalised by a member of the family.

1. The tasting consists of 5 different cheeses. We try to present the greatest variety of cheese technologies, with the three milks (sheep, cow and goat) being present, seeking to bring together cheeses from different regions. 2. The activity includes one drink per person which can be wine, water or must. (The following drinks, if applicable, will be paid separately. 3. The duration of the activity is approximately one hour, depending on the size of the group and what the group interacts with. 4. Very long hours, booking in advance. First, we visit the vineyard and take a tour of the winery while explaining the production process. We continue with a guided tasting of 4 wines paired with cold cuts and cheeses. Finally, we explore the underground cellars, where we age wines from the best vintages.
Guided tour lasting two hours in which you visit the Cerrato Castellano Museum, consisting of two buildings, one of them an Interpretation Center, where we find a space dedicated to oenology and the Historical Complex of the Baltanás Winery District. The second part of the activity takes place in the Municipal Winery and the traditional Winery where the activity ends with a wine tasting.
