In 2003, a group of wine lovers, fascinated by the potential of making unique wines in the Region of Murcia, came together to create Bodegas Lavia. A winery that had a mission: to design the best Bullas wines from its own grapes grown organically.
This is how Bodegas Lavia was born, a small winery that shows great respect for the environment, naturally achieving maximum balance in its plantations and maximum expression in its D.O. wines. Bullas Bodegas Lavia is located in Venta del Pino, a place of great landscape richness and strong viticultural character where vineyards of the high Monastrell variety are located, 800 meters above sea level, more than 40 years old.
The farm has 12 hectares of glass vineyards of the Monastrell variety, located in an alluvial valley with deep soils poor in organic matter. In addition to a small plot with Syrah on one of its slopes, a variety with which a blend is made for one of its wines. Soils formed by alluvium, silt and limestone materials of different sizes.
In the Paso Malo Estate that gives its name to the top wine of Bodegas Lavia, we find flint dragged from the upper mountains with good water reserves that are within reach of the roots of the old Monastrell vines, all bathed by a Mediterranean climate with continental influence that produces essential conditions for the Bullas wines of Bodegas Lavia to acquire their own character.
