GIL ARMADA is the name of a family connected to a place and a history. The place is the Pazo de Fefiñáns, and the history dates back to the 16th century when Juan Sarmiento de Valladares, a trusted advisor to Philip II, began the construction of the architectural complex. This remarkable site has been preserved in perfect condition to this day and was declared a Cultural Heritage Site in 2012.
Through audio guides and informational panels, visitors can learn about the history of the Pazo from its origins to the present day. Entering through the main door, visitors will explore the four main halls inside, then step outside onto the stone solaina. In the walled estates, they can enjoy a walk through one of the oldest Albariño vineyards in the Salnés, the vegetable gardens and fruit trees of the pazo, a forest of native trees, and the Gil Armada artisanal distillery.
